  • Grounds Maintenance Foreman

    Summary:


    The Grounds Maintenance Foreman is responsible for performing a variety of work tasks in order to manage the timely completion of grounds maintenance service contracts. The grounds maintenance foreman will be required to supervise a crew of laborers and operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specified job tasks, as well provide daily progress reporting on job time and cost data.

    Job Duties:

    • Plan and manage the loading/unloading of trucks and trailers in the AM and PM including all daily labor, equipment and materials required to complete daily objectives
    • Cut grass, trim edges, clean up refuse, blow trimmings, fertilize and water turf areas and perform other lawn care duties 
    • Move and install soil, mulch and plant material to assist with the construction of landscape gardens and related areas
    • Spray and dust areas to control insects and or weeds
    • Operate power equipment including, but not limited to, lawn tractors, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws, sod cutters, chain saws, and snow blowers
    • Supervise the work of crew members to ensure proper safety, quality, and productivity
    • Inspect all work for quality to eliminate the need for return visits and/or re-work due to quality or customer satisfaction issues

    • Conduct daily inspections and maintenance on vehicles, tools, and equipment

    Requirements:

    • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent 
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the landscape/grounds maintenance industry
    • Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
    • Effective communication skills – must be able to carry out verbal instructions, read labels and signs, complete daily reports to office and/or customers
    • Time management skills
    • Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practices

  • Foreman/Supervisor – Landscape Construction

    Summary:


    The Landscape Construction Foreman/Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all on-site aspects of landscape construction projects.

    Job Duties:


    • Manage the execution of construction projects, planning labor requirements, equipment requirements and material deliveries and timing to ensure completion of job(s) within project deadlines

    • Assist in the preparation of jobsites prior to the beginning of a project
    • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the day-to-day work activities of a landscape construction crew of 2 to 4 employees
    • Delegate job tasks to appropriate crew members to assist in the completion of landscape constructions
    • Participate in recruitment activities by conducting secondary interviews with potential job candidates

    • Assist in the construction of walkways, fences, decks, posts, etc.
    • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis
    • Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications to delegate/complete work activities 
    • Meet with subcontractors and supervise quality, efficiency, and deadlines
    • Complete and submit all required paperwork on a daily basis, including: daily site meeting logs, crew daily forms, equipment daily inspection forms, attendance tracking, time and materials billing summaries, requests for time off, etc. 
    • Comply with all company policies and regulations

  • Snowplow Operator

    Summary:


    The Snowplow operator is responsible for the safe and productive operation of trucks, skid steers, loaders and/or RTV’s with mounted snow plows or pushers for the purpose of controlling snow and ice accumulations on jobsites.  Snowplow operators are expected to be available 24hrs/day, 7 days/week at any time a snow or ice event occurs on their sites.  Snowplow operators are also responsible for excellent recordkeeping of their work including accurate times, dates, equipment inspections, site/service logs, and weather reporting.

    Job Duties:


    • Respond promptly to calls for snow and ice events

    • Clear snow from customer sites from designated areas (marked on site maps)
    • Pile snow in designated and approved locations only
    • Operate vehicles and snowplow equipment in a safe, responsible and efficient manner following all recommended operating procedures
    • Control ice accumulations at jobsites with the safe and responsible use of de-icing agents (salt, treated salt, liquids or other de-icing chemicals)
    • Hand-shovel or hand-treat site areas as required (walkways, doorways, fire equipment, etc.)
    • Be available for communication at all times during a shift and before/after shifts
    • Accurately document site service records for each and every site including times, services performed, weather conditions etc.
    • Submit paperwork and documentation promptly at the end of each shift
    • Document and report any obstacles at site(s)
    • Perform basic maintenance and small repairs on vehicles and equipment as required
